My research interests
are to understand the structure, dynamics and vibrational spectroscopy
of acidic solutions in bulk and interfacial systems.
My research primarily focuses on the solvation structure of protonic
defects in acidic solutions such as the hydronium, Zundel and Eigen
cations, the migration kinetics of excess protons, proton transfer
mechanism and also theoretical calculations of linear and two-dimensional
infrared spectroscopy(2DIR) for bulk acidic solutions. In addition,
studies of interfacial behavior of acidic solutions at liquid-vapor
interfaces including calculations of vibrational sum-frequency
generation (VSFG) spectroscopy will also be carried out.
